— Xi Jinping
Humanomics in the new era takes root in Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, puts people first, and promotes the integration and interdependence between humanities and economy.
It can provide a solid material foundation and strong spiritual motivation for achieving Chinese modernization, building a modern civilization of the Chinese nation, and creating a new form of human achievement.
It promotes the interaction between an integrated development of culture and economy, and reveals the ultimate power for high-quality growth……
Chapter 1
A New Format of Development
The “second integration” is another liberation of thoughts, allowing us to make full use of the precious resources of China's fine traditional culture in a broader cultural space for theoretical and institutional innovations for the future.
—Xi Jinping
This part introduces the concept of "Humanomics in the New Era," which is rooted in the integration of China's rich cultural heritage with contemporary economic and social development, guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. This innovative approach emphasizes a people-centered development philosophy, intertwining cultural prosperity with economic advancement to foster a holistic and sustainable model of growth.
Foundation in Xi Jinping's Thought: Humanomics in the new era is deeply influenced by Xi Jinping's vision for socialism with Chinese characteristics, emphasizing the importance of theoretical innovation to drive and respond to the development of the times.
People-Centered Philosophy: At its core, Humanomics champions a people-centered approach, aligning with Marxian principles and integrating them with China's traditional values, which have historically emphasized the well-being and centrality of the people.
Cultural-Economic Integration: This concept advocates for a harmonious blend of cultural richness and economic development, suggesting that cultural values and economic goals should support and reinforce each other.
Influence of Traditional Chinese Culture: Humanomics is informed by China's millennia-old cultural practices and philosophies, which emphasize harmony, collective well-being, and a balanced relationship with nature.
Modern Civilizational Development: The approach represents a distinct path toward modernization that diverges from Western models, aiming to contribute to a new form of human advancement that values shared benefits, joint contribution, and extensive consultation.
Global Perspective: With a vision for a global community of shared future, Humanomics extends beyond China, advocating for cultural exchange, mutual respect, and shared growth on an international scale.
Why is it Necessary to Establish Humanomics in the New Era?
The necessity for establishing Humanomics in the New Era is rooted in addressing the challenges of unbalanced and insufficient development, and the quest for high-quality growth that is people-centered and sustainable.
High-Quality Development: As China enters a new era, its economy has made significant strides, yet faces challenges like unbalanced growth and the need for high-quality development. Humanomics in the new era responds to these challenges by shifting the focus from quantity to quality, aiming to meet the diverse and evolving needs of the people for a better life.
Essential for Chinese Modernization: Humanomics is integral to realizing Chinese modernization, which seeks the free and all-round development of its people. It emphasizes a harmonious balance between material wealth and cultural-ethical advancement, ensuring sustainable development and promoting common prosperity.
Response to Global Development Deficits: In a world marked by increasing instability and disparities, Humanomics in the new era offers a Chinese solution to the global development deficit. It presents a new model for countries seeking to chart their paths towards modernization, emphasizing innovation, inclusiveness, and shared benefits of economic globalization.
Humanomics in the new era transcends traditional economic models by prioritizing the well-being and all-round development of people, promoting a balanced integration of cultural and economic progress, and offering a path towards a more inclusive and harmonious global development.
